The fronts of these potholders are a pair of dogs, one facing each way,
cut from 100% linen towels, fused onto a 100% cotton print,
and satin-stitched. Size is approximately 7 inches square.

The background fabric is a 100% cotton print of tiny leaves in turquoise and tan
and brown on an off-white.
The binding and hanging loops are a 100% cotton print of dark mottled turquoise.
The back of each potholder is the same fabric as the front background.
The fronts are quilted around the dogs, and then diagonally quilted over the
background.
Insides are a double layer of Thermolam Plus
(which is an an extra-dense polyester batting).
The backs are lined inside with ironing board cover material.
All washable, of course.
Edges are finished with a double-fold binding
~~ just like the binding on a full-size quilt ~~
with the hanging loops enclosed in the binding seam. |
