I start with white silk-velour yardage, cut it roughly to size,
hand-dye or hand-paint each piece, then trim and machine-sew the edges.
I use Procion MX dyes, which bond permanently with the fabric fibers.
( Silk velour is silk with rayon added to make the velvety surface. )
